20 years. It’s hard to believe that it’s been two decades since we, the Class of 2004, graduated from St. Julian’s School. Since then, we’ve scattered around the world, followed different paths and inevitably changed as we journeyed through life’s highs and lows. On October 12th 2024, we came together for our 20-year reunion. It was clear that while we’ve all changed, our connections remain strong to this day, making it feel like it was just yesterday that we were in school, with conversations picking up right where they left off.

We began the evening by honouring a friend, sister, mother, daughter, godmother, actress and producer that we are fortunate to have had in our lives at St. Julian’s and beyond. Matilde Ramos Pinto, who left us too soon, was a truly special person. One who had a lasting, positive impact on everyone she met. She was very much there with us throughout the entire evening. Not just in our thoughts, prayers, and memories but in the very essence of who we are today, shaped by her presence in our lives. Joined by her parents, we shared stories of Matilde and planted an almond tree in her memory. As Headmaster Paul Morgan mentioned, the tree is known as a symbol of hope and renewal, and this living memorial serves as a tribute to Matilde’s enduring spirit and resilience.

The evening was filled with reflection, nostalgia, and laughter. We share a special bond forged during our formative years, and many of us remain in close touch to this day. It speaks volumes about the strength of our bond that people flew in from as far as Australia, the USA, and all across Europe to reconnect—not only with each other but also with our teachers, who played such a key role in guiding us on our journeys at St. Julian’s.

Thank you to the school and the alumni team for all the support in organising the reunion. It has brought us even closer, reconnecting many who had lost touch, and I am sure the next gathering will not take another 10 years!
